Senghor University in Alexandria (Egypt), in partnership with the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), is launching a call for applications for the 4th edition of the “Women, Peace and Security” (FPS) certificate in the French-speaking world.
This training will take place online from October 22, 2026 to February 15, 2027.
The deadline for submitting the application file is August 25, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. GMT+3/Egypt.
Around sixty candidates will be selected on the basis of files transmitted through the Senghor University application platform.
Nearly twenty-six years after the adoption of Resolution 1325 by the United Nations Security Council in October 2000, and despite ten resolutions consolidating the WPS Agenda, the full participation of women in conflict prevention, mediation and post-conflict reconstruction remains a daily challenge. However, this is where more inclusive and more resilient societies are built.
Aware of the persistent issues and challenges in terms of gender equality, conflict prevention and peacebuilding, the OIF supports member states and governments in the effective implementation of their commitments under the WPS Agenda.
It is in this dynamic that Senghor University in Alexandria, with the technical and financial support of the Directorate of Political Affairs and Democratic Governance (DAPG) of the OIF, opens the call for applications for the 4th edition of online training, dedicated to strengthening the capacities of actors engaged in the operationalization of the WPS Agenda in the French-speaking area.
For this new edition, recognized experts from various contexts will mobilize innovative educational approaches, based on the sharing of experiences, co-learning dynamics, and critical analysis of practical cases.
The prize: a university certificate of skills delivered by Senghor University, upon validation of all the modules.
Objectives
- Master the normative framework of the “Women, Peace and Security” (WPS) Agenda and adapt its principles to national and institutional contexts
- Analyze the issues, interactions and operational implications of the four pillars of the WPS Agenda (participation, prevention, protection and recovery)
- Identify stakeholders and design mechanisms to encourage their mobilization in the development, implementation, monitoring or evaluation of WPS National Action Plans (NAPs).
- Design and implement advocacy, awareness and influence actions in favor of the WPS Agenda
- Apply the methods, tools and approaches necessary for the operationalization, coordination, monitoring-evaluation and measurement of the effects of the provisions of the WPS Agenda
- Design strategies to promote the effective participation of women in conflict prevention, mediation, negotiation, political dialogue and peacebuilding processes
