Senghor University (Alexandria, Egypt), in partnership with the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), is launching a call for applications for the third edition of the “Youth, Peace and Security” certification training in the French-speaking world. After two editions which made it possible to train more than a hundred French-speaking professionals, this new edition is part of a dynamic of consolidation of acquired knowledge while adapting to current peace and security issues.
Today, young people are directly confronted with the consequences of increasingly complex security, social, climatic and institutional crises. At the same time, they play an essential role in conflict prevention, mediation, social cohesion, citizen participation and peacebuilding. However, this contribution remains too little recognized and rarely institutionalized in decision-making processes.
It is in this perspective that the training intends to strengthen the understanding and appropriation of the JPS Agenda and its normative framework, in particular Resolution 2250 of the United Nations Security Council, adopted in 2015. It also aims to provide participants with tools allowing them to contribute concretely to the design, implementation and monitoring of initiatives and policies promoting the participation of young people in peace and security processes.
Open to professionals and committed actors from the French-speaking world, the training is offered entirely online and favors an interactive pedagogy combining theoretical contributions, case studies, practical work and sharing of experiences.
A team of trainers and witness experts, with extensive knowledge in the field, will share their experiences through innovative intervention methods.
The training gives rise to a university certificate delivered by Senghor University upon validation of all the modules.
