Sustainable development in Africa depends closely on the capacity of stakeholders to build solid partnerships and effectively mobilize the resources essential for the implementation of projects and programs. In an environment marked by the proliferation of State actors, international organizations, civil society, private sector, diasporas and foundations, the complexity of financing mechanisms and the requirement for local ownership reinforce the need for strategic and integrated management of partnerships. However, many cooperation actors face persistent difficulties: absence of clear partnership strategies, weakness in the search for new donors, lack of control in the formulation of attractive project proposals, or even insufficient management of partnership relations, thus limiting the scope and sustainability of development initiatives.

To respond to these challenges, this training aims to strengthen the skills of cooperation professionals in the management of partnerships and the mobilization of resources. Through an approach combining theoretical contributions, practical tools and case studies adapted to the African context, it offers participants an in-depth understanding of the dynamics and levers of cooperation. The objective is to enable them to design and manage sustainable partnerships, to diversify their sources of financing and to maximize the impact of their actions in favor of the development of African communities.

Objective of the training

Generally speaking, this training aims to strengthen the development cooperation ecosystem through the design and management of innovative resource mobilization and partnership management strategies, in order to maximize the impact, sustainability and replicability of their development initiatives.

Teaching Methods

The certificate is “learning by doing” oriented and is designed to ensure great training flexibility. For this purpose: participants benefit from access to the distance learning platform (FAD) of Senghor University where learning resources are made available; The course is delivered using the face-to-face approach, enriched by the use of the FAD platform. The classroom represents a place for the exchange of practices, discussion and deepening of theoretical content; the course and discussion sessions are consolidated by putting theoretical concepts into practice through simulation activities, in particular through a day of simulating a crisis situation with feedback, as well as the analysis of crisis situations “case studies”; independent work is alternated with group work; upon entering the training, the learner will be subject to an entry test to take stock of the knowledge (and practices) on the targeted skills; a second test placed at the end of the training will make it possible to assess the level of progress of the learners; an evaluation of acquired knowledge at the end of training will be organized in the form of deliverables. In this educational paradigm, the identified thematic content is grouped and divided according to the skills to be acquired around learning and simulation activities which allow them to be acquired.
