Senghor University in Alexandria, in partnership with Le Baromètre, is launching a call for applications for the first edition of the Certificate in Impact Assessment of Development Projects.
This certification training will be organized in a hybrid format combining an online learning phase, scheduled for January 18 to 29, 2027, and a face-to-face session which will take place from February 1 to 5, 2027 in Cotonou, Benin.
Interested persons are invited to submit their application no later than October 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. GMT.
The training will welcome a cohort of 20 to 25 participants, in order to guarantee quality educational support and privileged exchanges with experts. Particular attention will be given to female candidates.
Senghor University and Le Baromètre reserve the right not to respond to this call for applications.
Public policies and development projects today mobilize considerable financial resources. In a context where the demands for transparency, efficiency and accountability are increasingly strong, it becomes essential to have solid evidence to measure the real effects of interventions.
Impact evaluation today constitutes the international benchmark for assessing the effectiveness of development projects. Based on experimental and quasi-experimental approaches, it makes it possible to identify the causal effect of an intervention and to inform the decisions of governments, technical and financial partners as well as development organizations.
However, in the French-speaking African region, technical capacities in terms of designing rigorous evaluations, econometric analysis, calculating statistical power or even dealing with bias remain insufficient.
In order to meet this growing need, Senghor University and Le Baromètre offer this professional qualification certificate in “impact evaluation of development projects”, designed according to international standards and combining theoretical lessons, practical workshops, African case studies and the completion of a professional impact evaluation project.
